This is the stills camera which I used in order to take the picture for the digi pack and for the music advert. Its is a 12 megapixel camera which I found very easy to use and enabled me to gain some good quality photos to use throughout my coursework.
This is the flip video camera which I used in order to film my music video, again this was relatively simple to use, and provided some good quality footage which has been transfered into the music video. It enabled me to store 1hours worth of footage upon the device which gave me a large amount of material to minipulate in order to gain the best video possible.
I used a laptop to carry out all of my internet research into different magazines, music videos and digi packs so this would widen my knowledge of media and as a result be able to improve my coursework through this improved knowledge. Also I used the laptop in order to write my blog and put all of my coursework peices together to make the portfolio. In addition to this all of my planning on prezi, slide share etc was carried out on the laptop , therefore its safe to conclude a laptop and computer software was a vital peice of equipment used in my A2 coursework.
This media device above is a card reader and this peice of equipment enabled me to transfer photos which I had taken on the camera to computer. This method of transfering photos was simple and quick to use which benefited the simplicity of the task.
Computer Software Used
In order to edit my music video I used relativeley new editing software called premier elements 10 which enabled me to create specific effects I wanted and brighten different aspects of my video up in order to create the them of dreaming which I have encorporated throughout the coursework. Alsothe software enabled me to lipsink the video with the audio when necessary. However as the software was on college computers I found the software to be slow on occasions and this impacted on the time taken to edit my video.
In order to edit my photos which I had taken I used the photoshop software to create the necessary effects and purify my images to make them exactly how I wanted them to be . This software was a vital part of my coursework as the editing of the images was crucial to create the necessary effects.
I also used windows movie maker as it was simple and easy to use at the begining of my A2 year as this would help me get to grips with filming and with simple edits. In addition I found that the simple skills I learnt for this were transferable to more advanced software I used later on in the coursework.
I also used powerpoint as a way of presenting my information and was also used within the planning stages it is easy to use and looks professional for presenting to people.
Online Programmes
In order to gain feedback from my final video I also used the video sharing website youtube as this enabled me to gain a wide range of feedback from the wider world of the strengths and weaknesses of my video.
In addition to this I used Zamar in order to convert video footage into a file I could use I found it initaially easy to use yet it was quite time consuming when downloading and some may see this as a disadvantage for users. However it aided me in a lot of tasks within my courseowork.
I also used the online programme flickr this enabled me to annotated peices of media and deconstruct them to present my research into similar music genres, also it built upon my computing skills and was hard to get use to the software.
Slideshare was yet another online programme I used in my media coursework , It enabled me to prsent in a new way my powerpoint presentations, and embed them upon my blog. It was quick and easy to use and allowed me to present my powerpoints clearly.
Also with majority of people using social networking sites at the moment, I decided to use this to my advantage and posted my final video on my facebook page in order to gain feedback from my friends, to gain a wider range of peoples thoughts of the video.
