In order to get an idea of the type of digipack I would like to create I have carried out some brief research into what other musician have created in their album covers in order to give me some inspiration to draw upon for my digipack.
I was able to draw inspiration from the kings of leon album cover throught the use of the colouyr cheme which they continue throught all of their advertising material, I thought this was a key element of media because through this representation the artists brand can be established and the target audience will automatically associate this sort of colour scheme and image with the band.
I also drew upon a similar genre band through Biffy Clyro and their album which is show to the right, this image I found particularly inspirational for my media products which I produced for my coursework. This is because of the brightness and colour contrasts used within the image, the use of bold colours such as blue and red really draw the audiences attention through contrasting the dull and grey background of the sky.
This Third peice of inspiration is from the former busted member Charlie Simpson who I drew upon his styling themes (i.e long hair and indie look) for when choosing my actor for my video and digi pack , I feel he particularly demonstrates the actor I wished to portray. In addition the inspiration was gained also from his album cover to the left, with the use of the acoustic guitar within the shot, it shows simple imagery and represents basic genre stereotypes.
James Morrison was also an inspiration from a personal point of view as I wished for majority of the music and themes I created to be similar to his, as alot of the music is themed around love and heart break, which is a similar effect I wanted to create within my music video. Music Video
In addition to researching into different digipacks and music magazines I also looked at a variety of different artists and their websites and music videos to try establish a brand for my artist I was going to use. Some of these videos can be seen down the side of my blog, as these helped me and inspired me to create the meida products I have.
