In order to get use to the filming equipment , I planned and arranged a practice video at the end of my AS year this enabled me to be creative and begin to learn about how to construct a music video and methods of editing which can be used within the video to give it a certain theme. In order to keep it simple I used Windows Movie Maker as this would enable me to carry out basic editing and sycing video clips to the music. The song which I used was by the famous artist Nena - 99 Red Balloons and I gained inspiration from the famous tv series scrubs on channel 4 whereby the main characters all dance in a room to 99 Red Balloons ( for comedy value) as this was for both educational and enjoyment purposes it also enabled me to have a bit fun when editing.
The idea behind the video is that the two characters ( Marie and David) are both best friends and they enjoy spending time together and having fun. This is then reflected in the song as they buy a bag of balloons and have fun dancing in the room with them as this is spontaneous and random for the two characters. Then towards the end of the video the fun is over and the music slows in pace this makes the audience feel sad as the balloon floats away .
Feedback
As this video was to develop my skills and creativity I still wished to gain some feedback of whether the video was appealing to the target audience, therefore I posted it on the social networking site facebook in order to gain some feedback on whether the video was good or not judging by the number of likes etc i acheived. Here is a screenshot of the posted video :
